Benefits:
- High dry solids content in dewatered slurry thanks to high filtration pressure
- Great adaptability to the filtered medium
- Low demands on energy during operation
- Possibility of filtration cake washing
- Cleanness of filtrate
- Low consumption of auxiliary chemicals (coagulants, flocculants)
Final product of slurry dewatering using the filter press – filtration cake of solid consistence:
Main fields of the filter press use:
- Treatment of industrial wastewater
- Treatment of municipal wastewater
- Production and treatment of service and potable water
- Neutralisation stations
- Processing of raw materials and minerals
- Chemical industry (production of chemicals)
- Metallurgic industry
- Food-processing industry
- Pharmaceutical industry

The size of the press is characterized by the number of filtration plates and the length of their sides setting the press format. The company Envites produces and supplies the presses with plate formats of 400 x 400 mm up to 1500x2000 mm.
Basic parts of the filter press:
1. Filter press frame
2. Frame beam
3. Filtration plate
4. Filtration cloth
5. Hydraulic pump
6. Hydraulic cylinder
7. Filter press support
8. Inlet of suspension for dewatering
9. Filtrate outlet
10. Drip trays
11. Trough collecting filtrate
12. Flange for filtrate outlet
13. Fixtures for handling
The frame forms the supporting structure of the whole unit. The filtration plates are suspended on it making the filter press rigid to withstand strong force loading during the working cycle. The filtration plates form the working room of the filter press – a system of closed filtration chambers. The side of the plate is thicker than the internal recessed part and thus it creates contact surfaces with the adjacent plate. The filtration chamber is always made up of two adjacent plates, the thickness of the chamber is determined by a sum of their recessions. The filtration plates are covered with filtration clothes. The dewatered suspension is conveyed through the inlet opening passing through the whole set of plates and clothes. The liquid is distributed evenly by pressure to all chambers, the filtrate passes through the clothes and is drained via channels drilled in the plates. During the filtration, the set of plates is firmly clamped using a hydraulic unit. This secures that suspension cannot leak out of the filtration chambers even at high filtration pressure.
At the customer's request, or if required so from the technological point of view, the filter presses may be equipped with a number of accessories and equipment.
Along with the delivery of our equipment we guarantee delivery of operating documentation, training of personnel and service staff , guarantee and post-guarantee services , and technical assistance.
Design variations and main performance characteristics:
The frame design
- with sidebars
- with overhead beam
Division of filter presses based on the type of filtration plates
- Filter press with plates and frames (frames and plates separately)
- Chamber
- Membrane (chamber-membrane)
As a standard, the filtration plates are manufactured from PP, other materials may be used based on the process.
Method of filtrate draining
- Open
- Close

- 400 x 400 mm - 1500 x 2000 mm
Volume of the filter press chambers
- Usually in a range of 20 dm3 - 9000 dm3
Filtration surface
- Usually in a range of 1,8 m2 - 650 m2
Thickness of the filtration chamber
- Usually 10 – 50 mm
Filtration pressure
- the standard pressure is 16 bar, we also produce filter presses for filtration pressures up to a maximum of 30 bar
Achieved dry solids content in the filtration cake
- Usually 20 – 50%, with some suspensions as much as 80 - 90%
- Monofilament
- Multifilament
- Mono-multifilament
The clothes are available in several alternatives of materials
Hydraulic system
- with a single acting or double acting hydraulic cylinder
- closing by a manual hydraulic pump or an electro hydraulic unit
- Manual
- Automatic (individually plate by plate, several plates together, all plates by one stroke of the hydraulic cylinder)
Other optional equipment and accessories for the filter press

The table below shows only indicative information for the filtration chamber thickness of 25 mm. As regards the membrane design, the volume stated is the volume before squeezing the membranes.
Precise dimensions of the filter press and further information (e.g. performance parameters, description of the equipment) will be specified in the offer based on your specific instructions. The filter presses are always designed with respect to the quantity, origin, composition and characteristics of dewatered suspension. In order to facilitate the preparation of correct specifications, we have prepared several questionnaires.
