Main fields of use of the slurry thickeners:

Everywhere where it is advisable to reduce the total volume of slurry pumped to a dewatering system (filter press) through sedimentation.

These are mainly the following areas:

  • Industrial wastewater treatment
  • Municipal wastewater treatment
  • Production and treatment of process and drinking water

Description of slurry thickeners ENVITES:

As a standard, the slurry thickeners are produced in sizes with the tank diameters of 2.0 – 3.6 m and volumes of 5.7 to 39 m3. The tank consists of a cylindrical steel tank with a bottom shaped as a widely open cone. The thickener tank is supported by massive legs. On the top of the tank there is a supporting bridge fixing a vertical lattice mixer and a stilling cylinder with an inlet pipe. The lattice mixer is driven by a gearbox with an electric drive. As a standard, the surface treatment is ensured by a multi-component coating.

If a greater capacity is required, it is possible to arrange several thickeners next to each other or to build them in concrete tanks.

Principles of functions:

Separated slurry from clarifiers, primary settling tanks, reactors and other wastewater or water treatment systems is fed via the inlet pipe to the central stilling cylinder. Slurry particles drop through the settling room to the bottom of the thickener and the released supernatant rises counterflow to the overflow trough and is drained for further treatment. The overflow trough with an adjustable overflow level is created on the central cylinder or on the peripheral jacket. At the bottom of the tank there is a vertical rack of the mixer that slowly rotates and by cutting the slurry it releases the supernatant that rises to the surface. The arms of the mixer , moving above the bottom, are equipped with a system of inclined scrapers shifting slurry towards the central part provided with outlets.
