Types of ENVITES tanks:

The tanks can be divided based on their use into

  • Coagulation tanks
  • Flocculation tanks
  • Neutralisation reactors
  • Storage tanks
  • Mixing tanks

The tanks and mixers are usually made from steel or polypropylene. The tank can be equipped with a level meter, sampling device, or other equipment as required. The inlets may be of a flange type, free, equipped with a screw fitting and a cap nut, or fitted directly with a ball valve. Other adjustments are possible as agreed.

Coagulation tanks are equipped with a fast-speed mixing system ensuring sufficient intensity of mixing of the suspension with the coagulation agent.

Flocculation tanks are of a similar structure, but they are equipped with low-speed mixers with controllable revolutions. The mixing intensity is selected so that the clusters of particles can approach and accumulate into larger clusters. At the same time, the previously formed flocs must not be broken.

In the neutralisation tanks the intensive mixing changes the pH of the suspensions.

Storage tanks are used to store the substances. They are commonly used to store chemicals, filtrate or as sludge storage tanks. A special group is represented by tanks for preparation and mixing of coagulants and flocculants. These are described in detail in a special section „Preparation of chemicals“.

The tanks and reactors can be combined as equipment for multi-stage suspension treatment. For example, clarifiers where the whole process of chemical dosing, suspension mixing, coagulating and settling takes place. For more information about clarification see here
